Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday, August 21. Malaga
Arrival day

Meet with Bike Spain Tours guides at your hotel at 10am to leave for Almería (2 hours).  You must arrive in Malaga the day before, and stay in the many hotels available. We can help organize the extra night, just mention it to us. Once we make it to Almería, we’ll check-in at the hotel, take some time to settle in and rest. In the afternoon we’ll adjust the bikes and pedal along the beautiful coast better known as “Costa de Almería”.

Malaga, with its status as the capital of the Costa del Sol, its mild climate and beaches, is one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain. But it is also one of the oldest cities in the world, with more than 2000 years of history and the influence of all the civilizations that settled there such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans etc.

Dinner is included and it will be a good time to meet the rest of the group and the guides who will accompany us during this week of cycling at La Vuelta.

After, we’ll begin a climb of 40 km and 1500 meters gradient to Velefique. Very long climb, but only the last 10 kms are the most difficult. It will be a tough end of the stage in the race and we will be able to see which teams and riders want to win the Tour of Spain

After watching the stage in the VIP area, you can ride the descent or return to the hotel by van.
