La Vuelta: Stage 4: Andorra La Vella > Andorra La Vella
Accommodation: Hotel Yomo Mola Park
Meals included: Breakfast
For the first time in La Vuelta’s history, Andorra La Vella will feature as a stage finish line!
2026 will be the fifth time that La Vuelta has included a stage set entirely within the small principality of Andorra. The last Andorra stage was won in 2019 by Tadej Pogacar, marking his first ever Grand Tour stage victory!
In the first route of our tour, we’ll take on two of the key climbs of today’s stage.
Starting in Andorra la Vella, we’ll roll out through the valley before the road tilts upward toward the elegant ascent of Col d’Ordino. The climb is steady and scenic, winding through pine forests and opening onto wide alpine views near the summit.
A fast, flowing descent leads back toward the capital, offering a chance to recover before the second challenge of the day. The Alto de Comella may be shorter, but it is punchy and relentless, demanding careful pacing and rewarding effort with sweeping views over the valley.
From the summit, the road drops quickly back into Andorra la Vella, where we’ll follow the final kilometers of today’s stage and cross the official finish line in the heart of the city, before heading to the VIP finish area to wait for the pros to arrve!
Day 4: Wednesday, August 26th. Benicàssim
Route:
Elevation:
La Vuelta: Stage 5: Falset. Costa Daurada>Roquetes. Terres de L’Ebre
Accommodation: Albades Hotel and Spa
Meals included: Breakfast and dinner
This morning, we’ll transfer south from Andorra along with the Vuelta teams.
Our cycling route today begins in the historic city of Tortosa. From here, we’ll follow quiet roads alongside the Ebro River, warming up through fertile landscapes as you head toward the charming village of Benifallet.
Next, the ride turns decisively uphill with the ascent of the Alto de Paüls—a demanding and beautifully remote climb. The road snakes through forested slopes and dramatic rock formations, with long, steady gradients. As we gain elevation, we’ll be rewarded by expansive views over the Ebro valley and the surrounding mountains.
After cresting the summit, a thrilling descent leads us down toward Roquetes, where we’ll head to the VIP finish area to await the arrival of the peloton.
Day 5: Thursday, August 27th. Benicàssim
Route:
Elevation:
La Vuelta: Stage 6: Alcossebre>Castelló
Accommodation: Albades Hotel and Spa
Meals included: Breakfast
This morning, we’ll set out from our hotel and pedal up the coastline, with the sea sparkling to our right. The first section is relaxed and fast, passing charming beaches and small coves. In Alcossebre, we’ll soak up the Vuelta atmosphere in the departure village, and wave the riders off as they begin today’s stage.
Once the final cyclist has disappeared into the distance, we’ll get back on our bikes and head toward one of the highlights of today’s Vuelta stage: the Desierto de las Palmas climb. This ascent is a true local classic—steady gradients that demand focus and rhythm, with pine-scented forest on either side and dramatic views opening up as you gain height. It’s a climb that rewards persistence with spectacular panoramas over the coast and hills.
We’ll enjoy an adrenaline-fulled descent of sweeping turns and fabulous views, before returning to Benicàssim for an afternoon at leisure on the beach.

Today, we’ll be taking on the iconic Coll de Rates, one of Spain’s most frequently used training climbs by the professional peloton. The ascent is steady and consistent. Smooth tarmac, predictable gradients, and minimal traffic make it perfectly suited to focused training, while the open hillside offers expansive views back toward the Mediterranean.
After cresting the summit, the loop continues with a fast, technical descent. Sweeping bends and well-surfaced roads allow you to maintain speed while staying fully in control, before the terrain gradually eases on the return toward the coast.
Day 8: Sunday, August 30th. Alicante
Route:
Elevation:
La Vuelta: Stage 9: La Vila Joyosa/Villajoyosa>Alto de Aitana. Costa Blanca
Accommodation:
Meals included: Breakfast
For our final ride, we’ll be taking on the Alto de Aitana, one of the most imposing climbs in the region and the finish line for the final stage of the first week of the race.
The climb unfolds in long, sustained ramps, climbing ever higher through forests and exposed sections where the scale of the landscape becomes clear. As the altitude increases, the environment becomes more austere and alpine in character.
At the top, we’ll catch our breath in the VIP section, cheering on the pros as they tackle the very same summit finish!
Day 9: Monday, August 31st

The VIP opportunities as well as the riding were well worth the price. The routes were challenging but provided a great sense of accomplishment when completed. Riding Angliru, seeing the racers up close or crossing the finish lines, and the masses of crowds cheering!
Outstanding. We truly enjoyed our time with Stephane and Kike, and of course Pablo and Nikki. Laura and Aviva were super helpful on the front end of the trip as we sorted out our plans for the second half of our trip. Seems like a good team with office communications / logistics and boots on the ground (shoes on the pedals) making it all happen….. it’s really quite impressive! Spain took us by surprise, in a very good way. The culture, the people, the natural beauty, the food and wine and deep history are all very impressive and so much fun to explore and understand. Riding the course ahead of the race, the climbs and the incredible landscapes we saw – amazing. The group of people we had on our trip were surprisingly all really great folks and we seemed to get along swimmingly. The human connections, riding together, jumping in the van and traveling around as a group, enjoying dinners and after meal conversations – those are the best memories and we’ll cherish this trip for the rest of our lives… and will most likely stay in touch and maybe ride again with some of the crew!! The website offered a good look into the tour and our initial correspondence with the office was professional and thorough and offered a nice personal touch, foretelling some of the care and thoughtfulness which may transfer over to the tour, itinerary and staff. The dinner we had in the old town of La Guardia as a group was outstanding – incredible setting, family owned and operated – supporting that type of business makes us feel great about where Bike Spain is putting their support. Quality and price equate to a value discussion. We feel like this was a 10.
