Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday, August 23rd: Malaga
Arrival day

Accomodation: Parador de Malaga Golf

Arrival in Malaga is at leisure today. Check-in at the hotel is possible from 14.00. If you arrive before this time, you’ll be able to leave your luggage at reception. Your guides will be arriving from Madrid around 17.00, which gives you the time to settle in your room and rest. In the afternoon we will adjust the bikes and we will pedal along the beautiful coastline more often referred as the “Costa del Sol”.

Malaga, with its status of capital of the Costa del Sol and its mild climate and beaches is one of Spain’s foremost holiday destinations. But it is also one of the most antique cities of the world, with more than 2000 years of history and influence of all the civilizations that set up there such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans.

Today’s dinner is included and will be a good time to meet the rest of the group and the guides that will accompany you during this week of cycling in La Vuelta.

Day 2: Friday, August 24th: Malaga
Route: 79.9 km +1357 m / -1517 m

After breakfast, we will leave the hotel by bicycle to climb at our own pace through the Natural Park of Malaga Mountains and face the famous Port of Leon, climbed many times during La Vuelta history. We will then make our way down to reach the small town of Velez Malaga. All along the route, you will be able to appreciate amazing views on the mountains and on the sea. We will get to Torre del Mar and its golden sandy beaches for lunch.

After lunch, you can go back to the hotel by bike if you want to enjoy a ride along the coast or choose a transfer by van.

This afternoon, we recommend you to visit one of the many museums Malaga offers such as the Thyssen Museum or the Picasso Museum. You can also have a walk along the Alameda Principal Avenue and the La Farola seafront promenade.
