Follow the Tour of Spain from the mountains of northern Spain to Madrid for the exciting final stages!



Experience the passion and adrenaline of the last week of the Vuelta on its way through the mountainous North of Spain.

From Cantabria and the green mountains by the sea, the race makes its way to the Pyrenees and then to the Principality of Andorra to finally head towards the Spanish capital.

Nothing like pedaling on the same roads than the professionals a few hours before them and enjoying access to the VIP area to see the end of stage from the best position. With front-row seats at the finish line in the exclusive VIP area, all you need to do is sit with champagne in your hand and wait for the excitement as professionals arrive.

The relaxed atmosphere and accessibility to the pro cyclists and their teams during La Vuelta make it a very special experience. Day 1: Saturday, September 08th: Madrid
Arrival Day
Accomodation: Only You Atocha

Arrival in Madrid at leisure. The hotel for tonight is located in the downtown area, a few steps from the Atocha train station. Check-in is possible from 14.30/15.00.

Madrid is a charming city with many interesting things to see. It combines the most modern infrastructures with a great cultural and artistic heritage, a legacy of several centuries of history. The capital also has more than 60 museums that cover all fields of human knowledge.

There is also a tempting variety of stores offering traditional establishments and leading stores that offer the best international brands and stamps.

Tonight, you will enjoy a dinner in the center of Madrid on your own.

Day 2: Sunday, September 9th: Santillana
Natural Park of Cabárceno
Accomodation: Parador Santillana Gil Blas

This morning, your guides will pick you up at your hotel at 09.00 for a transfer to our next destination: Santander in the region of Cantabria (duration of the transfer: 4 hours). Cantabria is part of the Green Spain. It offers an excellent gastronomy and spectacular landscapes, between beaches of fine white sand, spectacular mountains and natural parks.

After check-in at the incredible Parador de Santillana, we will try the bicycles with a first route around the Cabarcena Natural Park, a unique place in Cantabria that offers a surprising world of animals in semi-freedom in a place of great beauty. We will go up to the viewpoint of Peña Cabarga, several times chosen as the stage goal of the Vuelta España; a beautiful climb and on arrival magnificent views of the entire bay of Santander.

Tonight, we had dinner together at the hotel.

Day 3: Monday, September 10th: Santillana
Rest Day
Accomodation: Parador Santillana Gil Blas

Today is the rest day the cyclists and we will take advantage of it to ride with one of the professional team also staying in the area.

Tonight we will have dinner together at the hotel.

Day 4: Tuesday, September 11th: Santillana
Time-trial in Torrelavega
Accomodation: Parador Santillana Gil Blas

Professional cyclists will compete today in the decisive time trail stage in Torrelavega, the birthplace of Óscar Freire or Vicente Trueba, among many others, and the stage of one of the three most important stages of the planet.

We will enjoy this stage from the VIP area before returning to the hotel by bicycle. Today’s route will offer us beautiful views and will allow us to discover several charming villages.

Tonight dinner is on your own.

Day 5: Wednesday, September 12th: Logroño, Rioja
Bilbao and Mount Oiz
Accomodation: Eurostars Fuerte Ruavieja

Today we go by van to the Basque country and the dynamic city of Bilbao. Located in the Territory of Bizkaia, the city is surrounded by a fertile landscape, with forests, mountains, beaches and steep coasts that make Bilbao a privileged destination for visitors. We will have time for a quick stop by the Guggenheim Museum. Designed by the American Frank O. Gehry, the building’s avant-garde architecture is a magnificent setting to present masterpieces of modern and contemporary art.

Then, we will face Mount Oiz, known as ‘El Mirador’ or ‘El Balcón de Vizcaya’ and one of the most unique places in the Basque province. This unprecedented summit represents a rise of 17 kilometers and ramps of up to 17%. Professional cyclists follow us, and we can cheer them up for this long but explosive ending!

Day 6: Thursday, September 13th: La Seu d’Urgell
To the Pyrenees
Accomodation: Parador de La Seu d’Urgell

Today we go by van to the stage. We have 2 hours of transfer. We will take the bicycles and pedal the same route.
Today is a flat stage and we will have the opportunity to run and fly to the city of Lleida and do the final sprint in the same finish line open for us. Volata and Podium for everyone.
After the stage, we have another 2 hours of van to Andorra.

Tonight, we will have dinner together at the hotel.

Day 7: Friday, September 14th: La Seu d’Urgell
Principalty of Andorra
Accomodation: Parador de La Seu d’Urgell

Today’s stage will be Pyrenean! We will ride until the end of the stage in Andorra where we can enjoy the excitement of this day from the VIP area.
This afternoon, why not enjoying the the Wellness Area of the Parador which offers a gym, sauna and an indoor pool, as well as a solarium on its terrace, achieving a natural balance between the Renaissance cloister and the modernity of their facilities near the Andorran paradise.

Tonight we will have dinner together at the hotel.

Day 8: Saturday, September 15th: Lleida
Principalty of Andorra
Accomodation: Parador de Lleida

Today will be a mountainous stage through Andorra that we will see from the VIP area. At the end of the day, transfer by van to our next destination: Lleida. The guides will leave tonight to arrive on time in Madrid for the big day tomorrow!

Tonight dinner is included in the hotel.

Day 9: Sunday, September 16th: Madrid
Final Stage in Madrid
Accomodation: Only You Hotel Atocha

This morning we have transfer by high-speed train to Madrid (2 hours). We will arrive at noon just to check-in in the hotel and walk to the VIP Neptuno area (Optional).
This afternoon we will take our seats in the VIP area located right on the finish line. From here we can enjoy the women’s race, which takes place in the early afternoon as a preamble to the exciting final of the pro-riders who must complete the 10 laps in the city center. With an extensive gourmet buffet that serves exquisite food and Spanish drinks, this is undoubtedly the ideal way to end the VIP experience of La Vuelta.

Day 10: Monday, September 17th: Madrid
Departure day

After the breakfast, our services end.
Today is at leisure. The Bike Spain guides will be available to help you with your travel plans and with any other details so that you have a happy trip back home!
