Day 2: Pralormo
Monday, May 21st
After picking you up at the Hotel Principe di Piamonte, we will start the route to Superga, an impressive location thanks to its magnificent Parco Regionale della Collina di Superga and its Basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary, founded in the 18th century by the Duca Vittorio Amadeo II after defeating the war, in the place where the Duca himself went up to see how the siege was going to the city of Turin.
We will then continue to Pralormo, enjoying the incredible landscapes of its countryside. In the afternoon, we will visit the Casamartini Museum, the first wine museum in the world and where we can try an authentic Vermouth.
Tonight, dinner is included.
Day 3: Cherasco
Tuesday, May 22nd
Today we will bike in the Piedmont area. Enjoy this gift of nature and history because there is nothing equal to the landscapes that this area of Italy offers to those who visit. This region is rich in history, art and traditions. It has an incalculable heritage and culture, so we can find small villages, abbeys, castles and fortifications with an evocative force that demonstrates the almost fantastic charm of the region, all framed by the snowy Alps in the background.
We will pass through the regions of Canale and Alba. The latter is the capital of the white truffle and the Dolcetto, a typical and highly acclaimed wine in the area.
To end the day we will visit the Bicycle Museum in Bra. After that, we will go to the hotel, where we can enjoy dinner.
Day 4: Cherasco
Wednesday, May 23rd
The Piedmont region is well known for its gastronomy, but the pride that its people feel for the wine of their land is not far behind. Therefore, the Barolo Route is made, visiting different vineyards of the Barolo and Barbaresco wines, cataloged as one of the best wines in Italy and even in the world.
We are also in the area of best production of white truffle, whose collection is usually made between October and November, depending on the weather that has been during the year.
Today’s dinner is not included. You can enjoy it at the hotel restaurant or go out and investigate the rich restaurants of the area.
Day 5: San Didero
Thursday, May 24th
Today we are heading towards the final route of the Giro d’Italia in Prato Nevoso. An impressive orography awaits you, you can still see the snow that does justice to the name of Prato Nevoso (snow meadow).
Prato Nevoso is located in the town of Frabosa Sottana, in the province of Cuneo, of which it is a fraction; Its relatively recent history dates back to the early sixties, when a group of entrepreneurs from Liguria decided to create a winter resort easily accessible from Genoa and Turin. In this place is the Sottana Frabosa, with an altitude of more than 1500 meters.
At the end of the day we will go to our hotel in Valle de Susa where we will enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
Day 6: San Didero
Friday, May 25th
Almost on the French border, in the town of Susa, we will find the Port of Col de Finestre to which we are going today. It is usually one of the hardest stages in the Giro. With ramps maintained of a 10% slope and a fine stretch of 8kms without asphalt (sterrato) are more than enough reasons to take this stage seriously.
In the afternoon we will return to our hotel in Susa Valley and have dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Turin
Saturday, May 26th
We continue in the Alps and we will see the Cervinia Region, famous for its ski slopes. It is also known as “land of many waters”, as its numerous lakes prove. This region was not inhabited until barely 200 years ago, due to the difficulty of its access. The sporting activity in the area is exceptional, from snow and ski to golf, trekking and mountain biking. Take the opportunity to get to know a unique landscape!
